Tameer-e-Nau Public College is among the leading educational institutions in the province of Balochistan, Pakistan. The campus is situated in the centre the provincial capital city of Quetta. Over the years, the institution has won a number of prestigious national and provincial awards and honours. The college is among the few in Pakistan whose Principal has been awarded the "Sitara-e-Imtiaz" for distinguished merit and national and international levels. Establishment

The college was established in July 1983 as an initiative of local people with an aim to build an educational institution based on the principles of social welfare. Today it remains a non-commercial institution governed by a registered body "Idara Tameer-e-Nau".

Over the years, the institution has become well-reputed for the richness of its discipline, academic record and extracurricular activities. The very first batch from this college secured the top positions in the HSC exams. Principal of Tameer-e-Nau public college, Prof Fazal-Haq-Mir, in recognition of outstanding services has been awarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan. This is a unique example for a provincial institution, because usually the medal is given to the who has achieved excellence in his or her field at the national or international levels.

Federal Ministry of Education, Islamabad awarded the college with the "Certificate of Merit and Excellence" for five consecutive time, judging it as the best college of Balochistan.

In 2003, the college achieved the awards for the 'Best College', 'Best Principal', and 'Best Student' from the Balochistan Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Quetta.

College complex

The college is situated in a serene environment and in a modern state-of-the-art structure. The college building consists of eighteen lecture rooms; five separate Science laboratories, Principal’s Office, Conference Hall, Staff Room, Account Office, Gymnasium, Science Room, Library, Audio Video Room, Playground and Mosque.

The existing complex is spread over an area of about convert|4.5|acre|m2 of land. Plans are already underway to utilise the surrounding 75 acres of land through an investment of Rs 530 million to establish a large complex comprising of a model school, girls high school, inter college, degree college, university and an IT institute. Academic Block

The academic block has 18 classrooms each having a capacity to accommodate 90 students. The class rooms are equipped with all requisites. The classrooms are spacious, bright and well ventilated. There are 5 science laboratories fully equipped with latest requisite article and items for Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, and Computer.

The college library consists of books that cover a wide range of subjects. The library books are coded in the Dewey decimal classification system.

There is also a spacious Gymnasium for extracurricular activities. The auditorium hall is used for various functions debates, speeches etc. The college cafeteria provides with food for the students and faculty in accordance with hygienic rules. On the spiritual side, there is also a small mosque for the performance of religious duties.

Uniform

It is compulsory for students to wear college uniform during college hours, which is white shirt and Khaki coloured trousers with black shoes, also a Black neck tie. The winter uniform adds navy blue sweaters or navy blue Blazers. The College identity card is also compulsory to display for students during college hours.
