Douglas County, Georgia , west of the city of Atlanta. The Douglas County School District is the seventeenth largest district in Georgia. The population has grown over the years and is currently still growing. there are thirty schools in the district in which nineteen are elementary, seven middle schools and four high schools.The School System Central Administrative Offices are located in
Douglasville, Georgia . In this building, students who have graduated can get access to their records and transcripts. People can also seek employment opportunities there. All major decisions about the schools are held at the School Central Administrative building.Board of Education
The Board of Education consists of five members representing different places or cities in the county. The Members are elected at large and serve a term of four years. The Board of Education meets twice monthly, except the months of January and July, on the first and third Tuesdays.

The school is located in a community named Fairplay. [http://southdouglas.dce.schoolinsites.com/?PageName='Directions'] The principal is Mr. Duffy and the school has a total of 538 students in grades Pre-K to 5th grade. The new South Douglas building was built in 1993. It was the first school in Douglas County to start an After School Program and the first to use the Reading First Program.
