Johnny Mills

Johnny Mills was a professional American Middleweight boxer from Islip, Long Island, New York. Mills was nicknamed General John Mills because of his take charge ring generalship.

As an amateur boxer Mills twice advanced to the finals of the New York Golden Gloves. Mills won the 1974 New York Golden Gloves 160lb. Open Championship by defeating David Rodgers in the finals at Madison Square Garden. Mills was defeated in the 1972 160lb. New York Golden Gloves finals by Thomas Chestnut at Madison Square Garden. Mills trained at the Islip Town Recreation Gym in Islip, Long Island, New York.

Mills only had a few professional bouts. On April 25, 1975 Mills defeated former New York Golden Gloves Champion Mike Bowser by decision in six rounds in Kingston, New York. On June 28, 1975 in Mill's hometown of Islip, Long Island, New York Mills knocked out veteran professional boxer Cove Green in two rounds. On July 9, 1975 Mill's was defeated by Archie Andrews by a six round decision at Binghamton, New York.

His unofficial professional record was three wins and one loss.
