Arcadia, Phoenix, Arizona
- Arcadia, Phoenix, Arizona
Arcadia is a neighborhood in Phoenix, Arizona. It is located in the boundaries of 44th street to 68th street and from Camelback Road to the Arizona Crosscut Canal. It is famous for its citrus trees, mainly orange and grapefruit. The area used to be occupied by citrus farmers from 1919 to the mid-1950s. In the mid-1950s, the rest of Phoenix caught up with the farms and the area suburbanized with characteristic ranch homes on large lots. [City of Phoenix Planning Department. Central Arcadia Special District Plan. July 15, 1987.]
