The station was started in 1968 by Richi Caldwell as part of the new broadcasting program at
Spokane Falls Community College .In 1995 SFCC eliminated the radio program to save money.
KPBX , Spokane's largest public radio station and NPR member station, took over operation of the station, simulcasting its existing programming on the lower-powered KSFC.On
