Christopher Green is a writer and performer whose work covers comedy, cabaret, theater and live art. Green was born in Matlock, Derbyshire, grew up in Darley Dale and lives and works in London, England. Background

Green got into comedy via television production and acting, after graduating from Goldsmiths College (University of London), with a degree in Drama and English. He is perhaps best known for his work as a character comedian, in a range of personas, and has toured worldwide in venues such as The Albert Hall and Sydney Opera HouseCitation | title = New York Times | year = 2007 | url = http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/16/theater/16sella.html?fta=y | accessdate = 2008-08-22 ] . Green hosts, writes and performs original music and material in a range of venues from nightclubs, corporate events for companies such as Diego, American Express, Tiffany, Bloomsbury, and MTV to private parties. Performing as one of his characters Tina C. Green has presented his own TV show, and is currently working on a third BBC Radio 4 series.

Main characters played

Tina C. A faux country music singer who's performance includes a range of topics from sexual politics ("No Dick’s As Hard As My Life") to geo-politics ("Tina C’s Twin Tower Tribute"). And also her bid to run in the 2008 presidential race in her show called "Manifesto"Citation | title = Artshub.com.au | url = http://www.artshub.com.au/au/news.asp?sId=95622 | Date = 06 05 2006 | accessdate = 2008-08-22 ] . In a 2007 commission from the Adelaide Cabaret Festival for "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" Tina solves the Aboriginal tensions down under.

Another character played by Green is Ida Barr, a selfproclaimed "world's first Music Hall singer turned RnB rap superstar" Citation | title = IdaBarr.net | url = http://www.idabarr.net | accessdate = 2008-08-22 ] who has performed her two solo shows, "Artificial Hip Hop" and "Get Old or Die Tryin’" all over the world, on various UK tours, and on a variety of media.

As his cultural critic character Jedd O’Sullivan Green hosted a tour of "Seduced" at the Barbican Art Gallery.

Other Performances

Recently Green has been commissioned by Tates Britain & Modern, V&A, The Theatre Museum, and the RSC. In January 2007 he made "Seriously Funny" for the Dana Centre at the Science Museum and will do another commission called "Better Than Well" there in July.

Green also writes full length theatre pieces, including various pieces at Soho Theatre, four plays for BBC Radio 4 and various pieces for TV.

Plans for 2008 include an international tour of the new Tina C. show "Tina ’08", (including performances at the Brighton and Edinburgh Festivals), and a new Ida Barr Christmas show, "So This Is Christmas..." commissioned by the Barbican for December 2008. New radio projects for 2008 include "Tina C: the Aborogyal Monologues" and "Fan", a piece about the relationship between him and bandmember Frida from the group Abba.

He collaborated with Ursula Martinez on "Office Party Christmas 2007" for the Barbican Centre in December 2007 directed by Cal McCrystal, which will tour Edinburgh, Dublin and Sydney before a London run.
