Breckterfield attended
Damien Memorial High School inHonolulu, Hawaii where he was standout football player and track performer in theshot put . He graduated from Damien High in 1995.College career
Breckterfield took his football talents to Oregon State in the fall of 1995. In his time at Oregon State, he made a name for himself as a dominate defensive end in the Pac-10. Breckterfield was named a third-team All-American in 1998 after being named first team All-Pac-10 Conference. He was also the recipient of the prestigious
Morris Trophy , awarded annually to the conference’s top defensive lineman. He was selected to play in theHula Bowl his senior season as well. After his time with the Beavers, Breckterfield had a successful Canadian Football League career with the Toronto Argonauts (1999-2000) and Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2001-03).
Coaching career
Breckterfield is currently a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater with his former coach,
Mike Riley .Personal life
Breckterfield and his wife Carol have a 7-year-old son. Carol played soccer for USC from 1996-98 where she also was an all conference selection.
