1975 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
- 1975 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship
The 1975 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament was the 5th annual Division I NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament. Twelve NCAA Division I college men's lacrosse teams met after having played their way through a regular season, and for some, a conference tournament.
The championship game was hosted by Johns Hopkins University, and was played in front of 10,875 fans. The game saw the University of Maryland defeat United States Naval Academy by the score of 20–13 for their second national title in three years. Frank Urso scored five goals in the finals for the winning Terps. Jack Emmer's Washington and Lee team avenged a tough loss in the prior year's tournament by upsetting top-ranked Hopkins in the first round. The national title game represented the 50th time the Middies and Maryland had met since the sport was put on Maryland's varsity list in 1924. The Terps season concluded with a five-game winning streak including victories over lacrossepowers Johns Hopkins, Hofstra, Washington & Lee and Navy, in winning the national title. Navy had earlier in the season upset Maryland. [United Press International. "Terps Favored Over Navy in Stick Finals". THE CUMBERLAND EVENING TIMES. May 29, 1975. pg. 21]
