Purbrook Junior School is a mixed Junior Community School maintained by Hampshire County Council, situated between Portsmouth and Waterlooville in Hampshire. The school teaches around 385 pupils aged between 7 - 11 years of age.

The school shares land with Purbrook Infant School, a infant school located next to the school.

There are four years in the school, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

There are 3 classrooms for each year. There is a Lower School (Year 3 & Year 4) and a Upper School (Year 5 & Year 6). There is an ICT suite in both the Lower and Upper School areas. They are located in the middle with the classrooms on the outside.

Located in the Upper School is a Medical Room and toilets. In the Lower School is a Special Needs room known as The Hodan Room and toilets.

In between both the Upper and Lower School areas is, Reception, Library, Offices, Staffroom, School Hall, School meals Kitchen, Disabled Toilet, Changing Rooms, Music Store, Teacher Cloakrooms and an Art Room.

There is a large school field and a large playground with bench areas and Year 6 Area.

The school give the pupils a variety of sports to do, during lunchtime, in Physical Education (PE) Lessons and after school. These include:

*Netball

*Basketball
*Tag Rugby
*Cross Country
*Athletics (track and field)

Other sports that are organised by teachers are:

*Ballroom & Salsa
*Cricket
*Tennis
*Swimming

PJSA

The PJSA - Purbrook Junior Support Association is a group of adults (mainly parents) who organise events for the pupils of the school. Some of the events they are known for are:

*May Fair - Year 6 Pupils produce and make there own stalls along with stalls made by staff
*X Factor - Same process as the actual show, except teachers and parents (including headteacher) are judges
*Christmas Fair - Parents and South Downs College students help run all stalls - includes fancy dress and choir singing
*Cinema Nights - Located in School Hall, Fancy Dress and raffle, watch a variety of films
*Discos - Two discos on one night, lower and upper school

The current chairman is Angela Gibbs, she will be leaving in July, 2008 after 5 years due to children leaving the school and moving onto Secondary School.
