Hunter O'Hanian

Hunter O'Hanian, currently serves as the President of Anderson Ranch Arts Center.

O’Hanian comes to [http://www.andersonranch.org Anderson Ranch] from the Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where he has served as Executive Director from 1997 to 2006. Prior to that post, he was a litigation partner at Morrison, Mahoney & Miller in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College, a law degree from Suffolk University of Law, and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston.

While in Provincetown, O’Hanian enhanced the local, regional, and national reputation of FAWC and established successful alternative residency programs for artists and writers. He is a regular instructor in Boston University’s Graduate Arts Administration Program, Vice-Chair of the Alliance of Artists Communities, and former chair of the board of trustees at the Art Institute of Boston.

O’Hanian succeeds James Baker, Executive Director at Anderson Ranch from 1995 until May 2006, when he resigned to serve as President of Maine College of Art. O’Hanian describes his position as a “privilege.” “I have long respected the programs and the artists who come to work at the Ranch. I consider it a true honor to serve the organization,” he said.
