Albert John Cook (born in Owasso,
Michigan onAugust 30 ,1842 ; died in Owasso onSeptember 29 ,1916 ) was an entomologist and zoologist. In 1867 he established the Collection of Insects at "Michigan Agricultural College", present-dayMichigan State University . [ [http://www.arc.ent.msu.edu/history.php Michigan State University] ] He spent much of his life in Michigan and had graduated from "Michigan Agricultural College" in 1862. He also spent many years inCalifornia as he taught atPomona College from 1894 to 1911 and after this headed California's "Commission of Horticulture." He died in his childhood home. [cite book
