frozen =Nant-y-Moch (in English = "the pig stream,") is the name of a small river in north
Ceredigion which has given its name to a 66.8 square kilometre reservoir in theCambrian Mountains ,Wales which flooded the valley of the eponymous stream. Thedam is about three miles north of the village ofPonterwyd . The reservoir forms part of the Cwm Rheidolhydroelectric power scheme and theheadwaters of the reservoir includes the source of theRiver Rheidol .History
Nant-y-Moch was created in
1964 . The construction of the dam flooded the valley south of it, which included the small village of Nant-y-Moch. The contents of the graveyard which was to be submerged were relocated to the chapel atPonterwyd , and a number ofCairn were painstakingly moved, some of which dated back as far as theIron Age .External links
