App4Math

App4Math is a software package for the TI-83/TI-84 series of Texas Instruments calculators developed by I.Q. Joe, based in Southern California. It will also run on the TI-Nspire with the 84-Plus keypad installed.

When using App4Math you have the ability to input problems as you see them in your text book, instead of trying to figure out how to translate them so that the calculator can understand it.

Features

With App4Math your calculations can include:

* Pi (π)
* Fractions
* Percentages
* Absolute values
* Exponents
* Scientific notation
* Square roots, cube roots, and other roots
* Imaginary and complex numbers
* Logarithms
* Trigonometric functions
* The most commonly used Math Menu functions

Additionally, you are able to instantly change the mode of your answer, such as:

* Decimals
* Fractions (including improper and mixed fractions)
* Percentages
* Scientific notation
* Quotients with remainders

Fractions

Unlike the default TI-83/TI-84 software, App4Math allows you to view fractions like they are presented in your text book. So instead of 3/4 you will see: dfrac{3}{4}.

This comes in handy when you are dealing with a problem which otherwise would be seen as (3+4)/4 as: dfrac{3+4}{4}

Variables

With App4Math you can assign variables with each problem.

a=6

b=5

a+b = 11

Zoom Math

Soon I.Q. Joe will be merging App4Math and Zoom Algebra into one product called "Zoom Math." It will be split up into six different versions, so you only have to purchase the level of math help you need.

Zoom Math Starter Edition

Zoom Math Starter Edition will be the new name of App4Math and will include all functionality it has now.

Zoom Math Turbo Edition - Zoom Math 100

The second level edition of Zoom Math is Zoom Math Turbo Edition, also known by the name Zoom Math 100. Zoom Math 100 will appear on your calculator's list of Apps as Zoom100. Beginning with Zoom Math 100, all editions of Zoom Math can be downloaded and installed free of charge, but will "locked" on your calculator until the Registration Key is purchased. Locked copies of Zoom Math software can't solve all the problems that unlocked registered copies can solve, but they can demonstrate some of the software's capabilities. Once a Registration Key is purchased, the software's full functionality will be unlocked. In addition to doing everything that the Starter Edition of Zoom Math can do...

... Zoom Math 100 can also:

* Graph equations
* Show solution steps for most problems

Zoom Math 200

Able to solve equations through Algebra I, Zoom Math 200 will appear on your calculator's list of Apps simply as Zoom200. It is scheduled for release in late August 2008, and most of its algebra functionality is already in Zoom Algebra. However, Zoom Algebra does not currently include the functionality of App4Math or Zoom Math 100. Zoom Algebra's functionality will be merged with that of Zoom Math 100 and then replaced by Zoom Math 200. (Customers who purchased Zoom Algebra after January 30th 2008 will be entitled to a free upgrade to Zoom Math 200.)

In addition to doing everything App4Math and Zoom Math 100 can do, Zoom Math 200 will also:

* Provide shortcut keys for commonly used variable names (x,y and z)
* Combine like terms
* Simplify exponential expressions
* Distribute and FOIL
* Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions containing variables
* Simplify square roots
* Substitute out known variables
* Solve multi-variable equations for a specific variable
* Solve systems of linear equations
* Compute sums of arithmetic sequences
* Factor polynomials
* Solve complicated fraction problems that involve factoring
* Solve quadratic equations
* Solve equations that include square roots (radicals)

Zoom Math 300

Able to perform equations through Algebra II, this edition is not yet available, but is scheduled for release in 2008. In addition to doing everything that lower editions can do, Zoom Math 300 will also handle problems involving:

* Imaginary and complex numbers
* Quadratic inequalities
* Exponential and logarithmic functions
* Arithmetic and geometric sequences and series

Zoom Math 400

Able to solve equations through Trigonometry, this edition is not yet available, but is also scheduled for release in 2008. In addition to doing everything that lower editions can do, Zoom Math 400 will also handle problems involving:

* Functions and inverse functions
* Sine, cosine, tangent, and other trigonometric functions
* Trigonometric form of complex numbers
* Parametric equations
* Polar coordinates

Zoom Math 500

Able to solve equations through Calculus, this edition is not yet available, but is scheduled for release in 2008. In addition to doing everything that lower editions can do, the Zoom Math 500 will also handle problems involving:

* Limits
* Derivatives
* Implicit differentiation
* Indefinite and definite integrals

Please note: Zoom Math has projected the release of their software since March 2008, and have failed to meet every deadline in the past. Use their release dates as more of "wishfull thinking" than a factual and realistic time frame.

Pricing

Zoom Math Starter Edition / App4Math

App4Math is currently a free download, and will continue to be as the transition to the Zoom Math line continues.

Zoom Algebra Basic

The current basic incarnation of Zoom Math Algebra I Edition is $24.99.

Zoom Algebra Advanced

The current price for Zoom Algebra Advanced is $49.99, and those who purchase it after January 30th 2008 will be entitled to a free upgrade to Zoom Math Algebra I Edition. However, it is unclear if Zoom Algebra Basic customers will be given the free upgrade at this time.
