"Locked Up Abroad" is a documentary television series appearing on the National Geographic Channel. The series chronicles the true stories of people who have found themselves behind bars miles from home. It is a repackaging of the British TV show Banged Up Abroad for American audiences. It has been criticised for portraying its subjects as victims, even though many have openly admitted guilt to the crimes they committed.
