16 May ,1891 -February 10 ,1983 ), was the Bishop for theEpiscopal Diocese of Southern Ohio . At the time of his death was the oldest bishop in theEpiscopal Church , and when he was consecrated at the age of 38 in 1929, he was the youngest Episcopal bishop in the United States. He graduated
Yale University in 1914, then was an officer in the infantry duringWorld War I and was awarded theDistinguished Service Cross for his heroism in France, after being wounded twice. After the war he started at theEpiscopal Divinity School inCambridge, Massachusetts , and he graduated in 1920. He was then the rector ofAll Saints Episcopal Church in Cambridge, and in 1930 he moved to the Cincinnati at theEpiscopal Diocese of Southern Ohio .
