The Voluntary System of Assessment (VSA) is an educational assessment being developed by American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) and the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) to demonstrate accountability and stewardship to public and to identify effective educational practices. This project is a response to the call by the [http://www.ed.gov/news/speeches/2006/09/09262006.html Spellings Commission] for increased accountability in higher education.
