Teen Super Power Hour

The Kid's Super Power Hour (1981-1982) was a syndicated Filmation cartoon that featured high school kids at Hero High with interesting powers. Everyone who went to this school had a super power. Just think "Archie meets the Superfriends". There was a live action show of actors dressed in costumes; the cartoon portrayed these actors as having superpowers that came in handy in time. One wore a blue costume with a storm cloud insignia; he created rain and occasional thunderstorms.

The Good Guys (main good guys)were: Captain California. Cal portrayed a serious leader who took his role seriously. Whenever he fell short of his own expectations, he took it very personally. Captain California was played by Christopher Hensel. (Becky Perle) played optimistic Glorious Gal, a musically talented blonde with super strength. Misty Magic (Jere Fields) was a skilled magician, Weatherman (Jim Greenleaf) casted weather he couldn't predict, and Punk Rock (Johnny Venocour) was a skilled, sonic guitar-toting hero with superhuman strength and a loud voice, according to the [International Hero Website [http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/h/herohigh.htm] ] .

Rex Ruthless (John Berwick) and Dirty Trixie (Maylo McCaslin), to name two, were two of the troublemaker good guys at the school. They often played pranks on Cal, Becky, Weatherman, and the other good "Good-Guy" teen heroes. Rex Ruthless, covetous of Cal's girlfriend Glorious Gal, often teamed up with Dirty Trixie to break up Cal and Glory (Glorious Gal's nickname). This usually failed.

The show and its animated sister arguably served as a foil for the older, more popular animated Shazam! cartoon, which always followed the first two acts.
