leaf miner moths. This is one candidate as thesister group (see alsoPalaephatoidea ) of the bulk of Lepidoptera, theDitrysia (Davis, 1999; Wiegmann "et al.", 2002), and they have amonotrysia n type of female reproductive system. The superfamily contains just one family and traditionally onegenus , "Tischeria", but currently three genera are recognised, widespread across the World includingSouth America (Davis, 1986), except forAustralasia (Puplesis and Diskus, 2003). These small moths are leaf-miners [http://www.leafmines.co.uk/html/tischeriidae.htm] in the caterpillar stage, feeding mainly onFagaceae ("Tischeria" and "Coptotriche"),Asteraceae andMalvaceae ("Astrotischeria"), and some also onRhamnaceae ,Tiliaceae andRosaceae [http://www.life4diversity.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=50 ] [http://internt.nhm.ac.uk/jdsml/research-curation/projects/hostplants//list.dsml?searchPageURL=index.dsml&Familyqtype=starts+with&Family=Tischeriidae&PFamilyqtype=starts+with&PFamily=&Genusqtype=starts+with&Genus=&PGenusqtype=starts+with&PGenus=&Speciesqtype=starts+with&Species=&PSpeciesqtype=starts+with&PSpecies=&Country=&sort=Family ] .References
