Toronto ,Ontario ) is a Canadian canoeist.Norman Lane canoed for the Balmy Beach Canoe Club, winning an Olympic
Bronze medal for Canada in the 10,000 m singles inLondon in 1948. His brother, Kenneth Lane, won an Olympic Silver medal for Canada in the 10,000 m doubles inHelsinki in 1952. Norman also earned a PhD in Math and became a Professor atMcMaster University inHamilton, Ontario , where he worked until his retirement in 1988. He has 5 sons with his wife of over 60 years, Doris Lane, as well as 10 grandchildren. He is dearly loved by his family and continues to keep in shape by working out at his cottage nearKingston, Ontario in the summer months.References
