St Ambrose Barlow is a Roman Catholic technology college high school in Swinton, Salford. In an Ofsted inspection in 2005, the school was awarded "Outstanding" in many areas. The school admissions policy [cite web|url=http://www.stambrosebarlow.co.uk/php/schoolinfo/admissions/admissions.php|title=Admissions policy|accessdate=2008-06-21] prefers to admit those from a Roman Catholic background, for example those from one of the local Roman Catholic primary schools.

St Ambrose Barlow was hanged for preaching in Lancaster.
