Maryvonne Kendergi or Kendergian, CM, CQ (August 15, 1915, Aintab, Vilayet of Aleppo, Ottoman Empire September 2011)[1] was a Canadian writer, professor, musicologist, pianist, and Québécois commentator. She grew up in Syria, then moved to France where she studied and gained an advanced degree from the Sorbonne in 1942.[2][3] She moved to Canada in 1952,[3] and became a Canadian citizen in 1960.
For ten years she hosted radio programs on contemporary music on Radio-Canada and also appeared regularly on television.[2][3] She taught at the Université de Montréal.[2] She played an important role in the founding of the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec in 1966.[4]
