Erling Sandene

Erling Sandene

Erling Sandene (born 7 April 1921 in Bærum) is a Norwegian judge and civil servant.

He graduated as cand.jur. in 1943. He was County Governor of Møre og Romsdal from 1966 to 1972, Supreme Court judge from 1972 and Norwegian Parliamentary Ombudsman from 1974 to 1982. From 1984 to 1991, he was the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Sandene was awarded the Order of St. Olav in 1978, and is also a freemason.Fact|date=June 2008
