Tracy Kavanagh (nee McGuigan) is a fictional character on the Irish soap opera Fair City. The character is portrayed by Hilda Fay. Tracy is married to Dominic and was once a prostitute.

About Tracy

Tracy arrived in Carrigstown in 2001 as Carol Meehan's best friend. She quickly betrayed Carol and had an affair with her husband Billy Meehan. Billy turned abusive on Tracy and sometimes beat her up. After Billy was murdered, Carol and Tracy became friends again.

After this, Tracy began a relationship with Detective Sgt. Miles Byrne. It was her first serious relationship as Miles liked her for who she is. However, Miles was having an affair with his ex wife, Sorcha Byrne. Tracy was devastated when she found out. Even though Sorcha left Carrigstown, Tracy was unable to forgive Miles and she left him.

In 2005, Tracy next started a relationship with Dominic Kavanagh. He was shocked to learn she was once a prostitute but she was more shocked to learn that he had once beat up his daughter, Kylie. Tracy managed to reconcile father and daughter. The two kept a strong relationship and moved in together.

In 2006, Kylie was raped in an alleyway. Dominic showed his bad temper when he attacked Ken Fahey when he believed he was the rapist. Tracy kept trying to take his mind of it and even brought Dominic and Kylie on holiday but after returning Dominic was still obsessed with finding the rapist. On Christmas Day, Dominic went out to look for the rapist. Tracy was furious and went out after him. The rapist attacked Tracy and Dominic heard her screams and saved her.

In 2007, Tracy got a jo as an agony aunt in The Northside Post, a local newspaper run by Barry O'Hanlon. Dominic proposed to Tracy and by the end of the year, they were getting married. On the night before the wedding, Tracy was shocked to see her sister, Frances had arrived for the wedding. Tracy hadn't seen Frances since she left to join a convent in Africa. Tracy's honeymoon was cut short when Carol called her saying Frances was having a panick attack. When she got back, Frances told her of her horrifying experiences in Africa. Tracy helped her through this and helped her settle into a modern life in Carrigstown.

In 2008, Tracy was concerned after she received a letter for her agony aunt article. The letter was about a women who was in an abusive relationship. While spending time on wondering, how best to answer the letter, she discovered that the women in question was Sadie who was Frances' friend working in the Bistro. Recently Tracy and Dominic have become friends with Mike Gleeson and Geraldine Fahey. In July 2008, Carol was targeted by the Criminal Assets Bureau. As a result, Tracy lost her job in the pub. Soon after, Bob Charles employed her to be a the manager of McCoys while he was away from Carrigstown.
