Ziway or Zway is a town in central Ethiopia. It is located on the road connecting Addis Ababa to Nairobi in the Misraq Shewa Zone of the Oromia Region of Ethiopia, Ziway has a latitude and longitude of coord|7|56|N|38|43|E with an elevation of 1643 meters above sea level.

Adjacent to Lake Ziway, the economy of the town is based on fishing and horticulture. Ziway is also home to a prison and a caustic soda factory.

Based on figures from the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, Ziway has an estimated total population of 35,931 of whom 19,034 were males and 16,897 were females. [ [http://www.csa.gov.et/text_files/2005_national_statistics.htm CSA 2005 National Statistics] , Table B.4] The 1994 national census reported this town had a total population of 20,056 of whom 10,323 were males and 9,733 were females. Ziway is the largest town in Adami Tullu and Jido Kombolcha woreda.
