Scott Warmuth (born
July 30 ,1955 ) is a prominent attorney practicing in the city of Los Angeles. Believed to be the youngest politician elected in the State of Washington, Warmuth became a city council member at the age of 18. On November 6, 1973, Warmuth elected city council member in
Lake Forest Park , Washington and is believed to be the youngest elected politician in the state. [4A Western Sun Edition, Thursday, Dec. 13 1973 (Judy Van Deen)] Warmuth ran uncontested against the incumbent Gordon Skelton and campaigned under the platform of safer school sidewalks and preservation of the city's park-like atmosphere. Scott Warmuth earned his Bachelor’s degree from New College in 1978 and his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of San Diego in 1983. He also attended the Institute of Comparative and International Law of Oxford University in 1981. He is a member of the California Bar as well as the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Career
After serving as a city councilman for the city of Lake Forest Park, Washington, Scott Warmuth served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Korea from 1979 to 1980. He is presently a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Warmuth is actively involved in his community and his personal activities include chartering the Alhambra Lions Club, sponsoring community events and hosting Chinese radio shows concerning the law. He can also converse in Mandarin.
