Rushy Mead School is a coeducational
secondary school , located inLeicester ,England . The school was rated as being a Grade 1 "Outstanding" school by Ofsted for overall effectiveness in November 2007. The school was originally a boys' school before allowing girls and female teachers in the 1970s. The school has since gone on to receive Sports and Science specialist status, which has involved a rejuvenation of several of the school's buildings, including a new science building.

Rushey Mead has a long rivalry with neighbour school Soar Valley. Soar Valley students frequently call Rushey Mead 'Mushey Peas' because of their former green P.E. kit.
