Inbar (

In the region where the community is located, the Biblical village of
Kfar Hananya was located. This old settlement was continuously inhabited by Jews from theFirst Temple until the16th century CE. The Biblical village was situated along the banks ofNahal Tzalmon , and was known for its earthenware pottery that was considered of high quality. RabbiHalafta , one of the great interpreters of theMishnah , lived there in theTalmud ic era, and is buried there.In the 16th century the community was abandoned, and its residents moved to
Peki'in , where a larger Jewish community existed.Until the
Israeli War of Independence an Arab village named "'Anan" was located there, and it was abandoned during the war.Establishment of the modern community
In the end of the 1970s, as part of the
HaMitzpim program , a temporary camp was erected for workers who were buildingmoshav im nearby. The remnants of buildings that were used in the camp were improved by members of the community when they went to live there onYom Ha'atzmaut in May 1994.Economy
The members of the community sustain themselves through
tourism and manage a guest house in the community. The guest house mainly serves groups, and operates various activities related to health.External links
