The Basilica Block Party is an annual music festival held at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis, Minnesota.It was first held in 1995 and drew more than 15,000 people, raising over $100,000 [cite web| title=Star Tribune, July 19, 1996| url=http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-62632899.html| accessed on 06-21-2008] . Attendance numbers have grown to more than 25,000 people who gather annually in the presence of the historic Basilica of Saint Mary [cite web| title=Effie Awards Application| url=http://s3.amazonaws.com/effie_assets/2007/1300/2007_1300_pdf_1.pdf| accessed on 06-21-2008] .

2008 will host the "14th annual Cities 97 Basilica Block Party on July 11 & 12".

Proceeds from the annual Basilica Block Party fund the ongoing restoration of The Basilica.

Musicians

The musical line-up for the 2008 festival includes: Missy Higgins, One Republic, White Light Riot, Ziggy Marley, Gin Blossoms and Gavin Rossdale.
