Camilla Lindberg

Camilla Lindberg (born 1973) is a Swedish Liberal People's Party politician. She has been a member of the Riksdag from the district of Dalarna County since 2006. It is worthy to note that in Swedish politics the word "liberal" stands closer to the ideas of classical liberalism than to those of American liberalism. In her youth, Lindberg was an active participant in the Swedish Libertarian network Frihetsfronten ("The Freedom Front"), and was a friend of later author Johan Norberg.

She is particularly known for being not only the only Liberal politician, but also the only politician outside the socialist-bloc, to vote against legalising general surveillance on June 18, 2008. For her determination in the question she was awarded the Bertil Ohlin-award on August 9 2008 by the Swedish Liberal Youth League during a formal reception which among others former Prime Minister of Sweden Ola Ullsten attended.
