Mark Harrison Murray, (born February 8, 1985, Evansville, Indiana) is a Independent league baseball player. He is a right-handed pitcher for the Evansville Otters

High School

Murray attended Reitz Memorial High School, where he lead his team to a sectional championship. During his tenure at Memorial he earned an academic scholarship with an option to walked-on the baseball team, and by his sophomore season he earned an athletic scholarship for his ability on the diamond.

College Years

Murray played four seasons for the University of Evansville baseball program under head coach Dave Schrage. Murray was a staple in the Purple Aces bullpen racking up 17 saves which places him second on UE's all time career saves list. Not stopping there Murray also landed second place on UE's single season saves list with 12 saves in 2005 on his way to making All-Conference, Missouri Valley Conference. Murray's performance in college didnt go unnoticed outside of his conference, Baseball America tabbed Murray as the 8th best pro-prospect entering the 2007 season.

Summer Ball

Murray Played in the N.E.C.B.L. New England Collegiate Baseball League for two seasons with the Vermont Mountaineers. There Murray tallied up an impressive 31 saves in his two summers earning him All-Star honors for his work out of the bullpen. Mark Murray was a favorite of the locals for his demeanor on the mound in late game situations and his Montpelier renowned "Murray Mustache" [ [http://thevermontmountaineers.com/champrosters.htm The Vermont Mountaineers Welcome You! ] ] . In 2006 Murray shattered the Mountaineers and New England Collegiate Baseball League single season record for saves in a season with 20, to go along with a 0.00 ERA earning him N.E.C.B.L. relief pitcher of the year honors.
