"As Velhas E Os Solteirões" "(The Old Women And The Bachelors)" is the twenty-eighth studio album by Portuguese American singer/songwriter Jorge Ferreira, released in 2004 on Portuguese Music World in America and Espacial in Portugal.

This successful album gave to Ferreira the opportunity to perform in 3 large concerts in South Africa on October 2004, at the prestigious Caesar’s Palace Gauteng of Johannesburg [ [http://cdbaby.com/cd/jorgeferreira Ferreira's CDs store webpage] at CDBaby.com.] , becoming the first Portuguese artist to mill on the stage floor of this international music venue where artists such as Céline Dion were already represented in Las Vegas by the Caesars Entertainment Inc. company. Ferreira's son Jordan became member of progressive/fusion rock band Mindwalk Blvd, performing guitars and vocals, and he was invited to perform electric guitar on this album. Recorded in the U.S. and France, this one included the return in studio of French band Malaca Trio. This band was present on the previous album.

Trivia

* In the Espacial version, the song "Brisa Que Mata" was re-recorded at City Limit Track studio. This new recording is a remix performed with Ferreira's musical material. The time of this version is 3:32, what makes it a long version.
* The song "Vida É Agua Que Corre" is a reprise of the song "A Vida", from the album "Sonho Desfeito".
* The song "Portugal Em Acção" is about the participation of Portugal National Football Team in the UEFA Euro 2004 in Portugal.
