Reviews

From "Whisky Magazine" Tasting Notes:"Nose: Sweet, delicate but intense. Touch of hyacinth. Caramelised apples, pine nuts. Chestnut purée. Coffee beans. A varnish hint. Becomes creamier and fudgier as it gets aerated.Palate: Very smooth and round. Oily. Fudgy. Oak and spices slightly overtake the fruitiness.Finish: Long. Drying on nutty notes. Black pepper.Comment: A pleasant balance between oaky and creamy notes. The finish is surprisingly long for the alcoholic strength. The mid palate is a bit watery."

History

In 1996, the Heaven Hill Distillery burned to the ground in a spectacular fire, and production space was made available by the Early Times distillery in nearby Shively, Kentucky, where most J.T.S Brown was made for some time.
