G.B. Newe

Gerard Benedict "G.B." Newe, Esq., OBE, M.A., D.Litt (born 5 February 1907 - died 1982) was a Northern Irish Roman Catholic Unionist politician and prominent Catholic layperson.

Political career

He was the Minister of State in the Northern Ireland Government from 1971-72 [ [http://cain.ulst.ac.uk/othelem/people/biography/npeople.htm Conflict Archive on the INternet (CAIN) biography] ] . He was appointed to Her Majesty's Privy Council of Northern Ireland on 27 October 1971 at Government House, Hillsborough.
