Michael Burke (born February 25, 1977 in Jacksonville, Florida) is an American footballer who currently plays for the Richmond Kickers of the USL Second Division.
Burke attended Loyola College, playing two seasons of college soccer. In 1997, he left college to pursue a professional career, spending time on trial with Deportivo Cali and Nottingham Forest FC. Neither offered him a contract and he returned to the United States in 1998 to sign with the Jacksonville Cyclones of the [USISL] . Late in the season, the Cyclones traded him to the Charleston Battery and Burke was named the 1998 USL A-League Rookie of the Year.
In 2000, D.C. United selected Burke in the fourth round (41st overall) in the 2000 MLS SuperDraft. He played seven games for United before being released on June 2, 2000. He then signed with the Dallas Burn on June 15. He played two games in Dallas, then was released June 30. He signed with the Richmond Kickers the next day and has remained with that team until today.
