s=司马徽Sima Hui is a character in the historical novel "
Romance of the Three Kingdoms ". Histaoist name was "Water Mirror", Shui-ching, or Shui Jing. Sima Hui's stylename (zi) was Decao. He was a mysterious recluse and the teacher ofZhuge Liang ,Pang Tong , andXu Shu .Liu Bei meets him by accident while fleeing a plot byCai Mao . Sima Hui then entreats Xu Shu to serve Liu Bei and it is also he who recommends Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong to Liu Bei.In reality, however, it was Zhuge Liang who recommended Sima Hui, Ma Liang,
Yi Ji , and other scholars who refused to serve inLiu Biao 's regime. Sima Hui, like other scholars at the time, such as Ma Liang, and Yi Ji were not satisfied with Liu Biao's reign and despite the latter's repeated invitations, Sima Hui and others refused to serve Liu Biao and remained as civilians. After Zhuge Liang became Liu Bei's most trusted advisor, one of his accomplishment was to invite Sima Hui, Ma Liang, Yi Ji and others to come to serve under Liu Bei, and since these scholars respected both Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang, all of them agreed and served in Liu Bei's regime.ee also
