Zubaid

Zubaid or 'Zubayd' is a large Arab tribe which migrated to Iraq before and after the Islamic conquest. The tribe was an offshoot of the Yemeni tribe of Midhhij, which is a Qahtanite Arab tribe. The tribe's first leader was the companion of Prophet Mohammed, Saad bin Maadi Karb.

As well as the main tribe of Zubaid in Iraq, which is based in Suwaira, in the Province of Wasit, and whose overall leader is Shaikh Maad Jassim Al-Samarmad, there are many tribes which trace their lineage to Zubaid. These have their own separate Shaikhs, or tribal leaders and include:

- Dulaim- Juboor- Azzah- Ubaid- Al Bu Sultan- Al Bu Mohammed- Shuwailat- Al Suwaed
