The Perm Academic Theatre. Date of the basis of theatre considers - on March, 14th, 1927. This day the Theatre of Young workers created in a city has declared itself a performance premiere «the Battleship Potyomkin». Half of troupe to "Battleship" never stepped on the stage. The theatre did not have a premise. All participants of movement worked also at the enterprises. But every month about 25 premieres were represented to spectators. Scenarios first, as a rule, wrote, drew posters and scenery, sewed suits. Stepped on the stage to bear in the people of idea of revolution and socialism. The lack of actor's skill was with interest compensated by ideological passion and enthusiasm.

Ivan Timofeevicha Bobyleva's "board" became a major landmark in history of the Perm drama. It has begun performance "Tsar Feodor Ioannovich" in 1967. The "Distemper" put by the new art director of theatre, was more than is indicative: on a scene there were not cardboard characters, and live heroes with difficult, ambiguous characters and unexpected, individual reactions to everything that presented them a role.

During the XX-th century at theatre it has been put more than 460 performances. In 1990th years more than 20 performances (among them - "Lucrative post", "At the bottom", «Three sisters», "Tango") have been awarded diplomas of the All-Russia, all-Union and international festivals.

With occurrence at theatre of art director Boris Milgrama in 2004 the newest history of theatre has begun.The troupe structure includes 4 national actors of Russia and 6 honoured artists of Russia.The modern building of theatre is constructed under the project of architects V.P.Davydenko and V.I.Ljutikova in 1982. The building has auditorium on one thousand spectators. Building of a new hall is planned for 650 places.

In current repertoire of theatre on the big and small scenes - more than 25 performances.
