Prince Svyatoslav Davydovych [http://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Святослав_Давидович] ofChernihiv , "Svyatosha" (meaning "godly", "religious"), who received the neighbourhood as gift in thetwelfth century . Literally, the name can be translated as "property of Svyatosha". Later, it became a large village to the west of Kiev. Since1939 , Svyatoshyn is a part of Kiev. It remains the center of Kiev-Svyatoshyn formal district ofKiev Oblast . The neighborhood was connected by metro in1970 when the "Sviatoshyn" station was opened.Several industries reside in Svyatoshyn, including the Antonov
