"Good Good" is the second single for American singer Ashanti's album "The Declaration".

The song was co-written by Ashanti and Nelly and produced by Jermaine Dupri. It contains elements of Elton John's 1974 hit "Bennie and the Jets," and the beginning of the second verse borrows the same melody arrangement as Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney's "The Girl Is Mine" from the album Thriller. This song has become Ashanti's 23rd charted single on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart.

Critical Reception

Music Video

The music video was premiered in Yahoo Music and BET on July 17, 2008. The video features an appearance by the rapper Nelly playing Ashanti's husband in the video. Ashanti described the video as "reality vs. fantasy vs. pin up. It's basically just saying that to keep your man, you know, you got the good-good, you look sexy, and your still cleaning the house with your high-heels and your shades and your diamonds! The video starts with some scenes shows an ice-cream, a cake, a milk bottle and a drink. Ashanti is then seen and subsequently there are still scenes showing some cookbooks, beer then rapper Nelly, in a courtyard of an house. In the courtyard, Ashanti takes the milk and then she greets Nelly. In the background of the video, some writings that sometimes show the words "Good Good", or "Wooooooooooh" and also "Ahhh" and "Uhhh". Two times in the video, the words "Right Here" is also seen. In the video, Ashanti is also seen playing her alter egos. She is a wife (Nelly's wife) and then she is a messy cook and cleaner, then she is an idle housewife. The end of the video develops it in a market, where Ashanti is seen shopping. The video ends with Ashanti kissing Nelly.

The song debuted at #9 on BET's 106 & Park then jumped 2 spots to # 7 it's second day and has so far peaked at #5.The official Universal video to "Good Good" received 2,300,000 views on YouTube in its first Two months. The video has so far peaked at #4 on i-Tunes Top R&B Music Video chart.

Charts

"Good Good" quickly rose to #30 in only 14 weeks of airplay and is starting to gain even more airplay reaching #30 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
