Camden College of English

Camden College of English in Bloomsbury, London, England is the first language school in the world to offer a course called English Language Cultural Experience. The idea behind this course is to "make learning memorable" by rejecting the classroom and traditional course books. All lessons are in places of cultural interest (e.g. British Museum, British Library, Museum of London, Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of Childhood) around London.

English Language Cultural Experience was nominated by the British Council for an English Language Teaching Innovation Award (ELTON).

On 02 March 2006, the British Council announced that Camden College of English had won the ELTON for Innovation in English Language Teaching. This is the first time a language school has been given this award.

The school, which is accredited by the British Council, is run by Stuart Rubenstein with his wife Greta and was opened in 1989 by David Jordan. This international English language school is also a member of English UK, the professional body for language schools.

Camden College of English is located on Bloomsbury Street, only seconds away from the British Museum. In 2006 students from over 42 different countries attended classes at Camden College of English.

Students take Cambridge exams (First Certificate, Advanced, Proficiency) and also prepare for IELTS. IELTS is the English language test that non-native speakers are required to take if they want to attend university in the UK, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. In the USA, universities tend to request TOEFL.
