icupdate = Patrick Horgan (born 1988 in Blackpool, Cork) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Glen Rovers and with the Cork senior inter-county team.

Playing career

Club

Horgan plays his club hurling with the famous Glen Rovers club on the north side of Cork city. He has enjoyed some success, however, he has yet to win a senior county title with the club.

Inter-county

Horgan first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Cork minor hurling team in 2005. That year he won a Munster title in that grade, however, Cork were later beaten in the All-Ireland series. In 2006 Horgan added a second Munster minor title to his collection, however, Cork were once again defeated in the latter stages of the All-Ireland competition. The following year Horgan moved up to the under-21 grade and enjoyed further provincial success. He won a Munster medal in that grade in 2007, however, in spite of high expectations Cork were defeated by Galway in an exciting All-Ireland final. In 2008 Horgan was included as a member of the Cork senior hurling panel. He made his debut as a substitute in the Munster semi-final against Tipperary, however, Cork lost on that occasion.
