The Guiding Principles

The History
Since its founding in 1994, GAWH has emphasized the importance of addressing issues of women’s health throughout the life span. GAWH has worked passionately to incorporate all stages of women’s health needs into global policy agendas, especially those needs that fall beyond categories of maternal and reproductive health. The Issues
Since its founding GAWH has addressed a number of women’s health issues including:

Trachoma Most recently their focus has been on the issue of
cervical cancer andHPV as welldiabetes and its impact on women. In April 2008, GAWH hosted an Expert Meeting called, “Diabetes, Women, & Development” at the United Nations. The meeting was a forum in which experts from around the world presented their research and opinions on the topic to representatives of UN member states and representatives of UN agencies.
