Judith "Judy" Hughes née Verhagen (born 28 April 1959 in Subiaco, Western Australia) is an Australian politician. She has been an ALP member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since February 2005, representing the electorate of Kingsley. Following the retirement of Cheryl Edwardes, who had held the seat of Kingsley since 1989 for the Liberal Party, Hughes contested the seat in the 2005 election and won with a swing of 3.3% with a margin of 0.8%. In 2006, Hughes was appointed as the Acting speaker of the Legislative Assembly and as the Deputy government whip in the Legislative Assembly.
