Hilton Capitol Center, located at 201 Lafayette St. in the Downtown Baton Rouge area is a 11-story, convert|132|ft|m|0-tall skyscraper. The hotel is part of the Hilton Hotels chain. The building was originally the Heidelberg Hotel, in 1982, the Heidelberg Hotel was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in asuccessful attempt to prevent its demolition. Unfortunately, it has stood vacant since 1985. The Heidelberg Hotel did not reopen til 2006 after a 60 million dollar renovation.
