Party Zone was "MTV Europe's" longest-running show, born not only when MTV Europe was born (August 1987) but also when club culture was at its embryonic stage. The show has not just reflected all trends in cutting-edge club music, it has set them. Partyzone mixes new and old tracks from the best of garage, house, techno, electronic, trance and drum and bass to bring you the most comprehensive combination of all kinds of dance tunes. It use to broadcast every Friday or Saturday around midnight.
Today, "Party Zone" continues to exist, on the various European Local MTV Versions and to MTV European, a cable channel that broadcasts to European counties that don't have a local MTV.
Party Zone doesn't broadcast on MTV One (UK) and MTV Central (Germany / Austria & Swiss). On those markets, there is a thematic music channel called "
MTV Dance ", that shows Dance and Pop music 24/HAlso, MTV France and MTV Portugal don't have any "Party Zone" schedules and broadcasts from more than a year. Those channels have replaced this legendary European program with a local version of "Dance Floor Chart".
