torylines

Brenda is a woman who Jean Slater met on a dating website and started e-mailing on Charlie's behalf.

Brenda decided to visit Walford in June 2008, and Jean was forced to reveal the truth to an unsuspecting Charlie. Brenda later discovered the deception, but revealed a secret of her own (she was a member of the Salvation Army, and plays the horn).

When Shirley Carter made a jokey off-hand comment about Charlie being a womaniser, Brenda left Walford, leaving her horn behind. She later gave Charlie a second chance when she collected it, and participated in a pub quiz with him and his family.

She has since started a relationship with Charlie, and comforted him when he got a spray tan to impress her and it went wrong, leaving him orange. He later visited her in Clacton.

In August 2008, she bought Charlie Slater a house on the allotments however when it arrived the concrete flooring was smashed by Suzy Branning which looked like it would ruin Charlie's gift from Brenda. However, the following day, Charlie managed to sort the problem and the concrete would be re-laid again.
