Shane Jolley is an Ontario politician and the male deputy leader of the Green Party of Ontario.Jackson, Jonathon, " [http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1064657&auth=Jonathon%20Jackson Jolley named deputy leader of Ontario Greens] |, "Owen Sound Sun-Times", June 9, 2008, accessed 2008-06-09] Jolley defeated three other candidates to be elected to the position at the party's annual convention in 2008.

In the 2007 provincial election, Jolley was the Green Party's candidate in Bruce—Grey—Owen Sound and came in second place with more than 33% of the vote giving Jolley the best finish of any Green Party candidate in a Canadian federal or provincial election. [Gorrie, Peter, "Green leader gets 71 per cent support; Endorsed by party, de Jong says his goal is to become premier," "Toronto Star", November 26, 2007]

Controversy erupted in 2008 when Jolley was charged by local police with trespassing. On May 4th a local family filed a suspicious persons report when they found someone starring into their window at 3:30 in the morning. Jolley initially denied involvement, but on May 31st was charged with trespassing. Jolley admitted he had been at the house saying that he was looking for a bicycle stolen earlier in the day. [Dunn, Scott. "Candidate Charged" Toronto Sun Sat, May 31, 2008] He apologized for earlier misleading police and the media, but argued that he did not want to reveal his covert anti-bicycle theft activities. Police have no reports of bikes stolen in that part of the city that day, and Jolley has refused to state whose bike he was looking for. [Dunn, Scott. " [http://www.owensoundsuntimes.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1063800 City police have no recent reports of thefts of expensive bikes] ." Owen Sound Sun Times]
