Walter Sieber was born in
Toronto onOctober 2 1933 . He trained as a professional wrestler withRed Garner at a localYMCA . He also was intobodybuilding ,swimming , andweight training . At the age of seventeen, Sieber became a professional wrestler.He began his career in
Calgary , wrestling forStu Hart 'sStampede Wrestling . He later met Jack Adkisson, his storyline brother, and they held the NWA American Tag Team Championship in 1967. As a von Erich, Sieber's gimmick was that of a German heel.Sieber, now using the ringname Waldo von Erich, also had success as a singles wrestler. He worked in singles matches for the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). As a part of the WWWF, von Erich wrestled
Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Championship. After his WWWF run, he continued to have success as a singles andtag team wrestler, holding championships in various promotions.After attempting a retirement in 1973, Sieber finally retired in 1979. After his retirement from in-ring action, Sieber became the president of the
ICW , where he trains young professional wrestlers. He has trained such wrestlers as Eric Young andEddie Osbourne .Personal life
With the money he earned from his professional wrestling career, Sieber bought a lake in Ontario. He also built a castle in
Belize .Sieber also invented a medical device, which he sold to several professional sports teams and used to provide therapy to those with back problems.
He was married for twenty-nine years before he got a divorce. He has three daughters from that marriage.
