"Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management" (JIEM) is an
open access scientific journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles, which contribute to advance the understanding of phenomena related with all aspects ofindustrial engineering andmanagement .JIEM was born in 6th June 2008 as an iniative of Vicenc Fernandez, Pep Simo, Jose M. Sallan and Mihaela Enache, editors of the journal and professors of [http://www.upc.edu Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain)] .
The aim of the Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management is to publish theoretical and empirical articles that are aimed to contrast and extend existing theories, and build new theories that contribute to advance the understanding of phenomena related with
industrial engineering andmanagement in organizations. JIEM includes contributions, but not limited to, in the following fields:*
Industrial Economics andRegional Development
*Management ,Organizational Behaviour andHuman Resources
*Finance ,Accounting andMarketing
*Information Systems ,Technology andCommunication
*Production ,Logistics ,Quality , andOperational Research
*Education ,Training andProfessional Skills The contributions adopt
confirmatory (quantitative) orexplanatory (mainly qualitative) methodological approaches. Theoretical essays that enhance the building or extension of theoretical approaches are also accepted. JIEM selects the articles to be published with a double bind, peer review system, following the practices of good scholarly journals.JIEM is published six-monthly exclusively on-line, and following an open access policy. On-line publication allows to reduce publishing costs, and to make more agile the process of reviewing and edition. JIEM defends that
open access publishing fosters the advance of scientific knowledge, making it available to everyone.External links
