Sharon Kam (born 1971 in
Israel ) belongs to young generation of classicalclarinet virtuosos. The fundamentals for another development of her career lie in the win of theARD International Music Competition in 1992. In 1991 she was also nominated for Davidoff Prize.Biography
She was the pupil of Eli Eban and Chaim Taub. Kam is also a graduate of the
Juilliard School of Music , where she studied withCharles Neidich . She made her debut with orchestra at the age of 16 withIsrael Philharmonic and conductorZubin Mehta , later performed with orchestras asChicago Symphony Orchestra ,Berlin Philharmonic ,London Symphony Orchestra ,Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra . In 2003 she made her debut at theSalzburg Festival , where she was reengaged also for 2005 and 2006.Itamar Golan , Israeli pianist, was her artistic partner (cooperated on recital CD) and she also regularly collaborates with colleagues asHeinrich Schiff ,Lars Vogt ,Christian Tetzlaff , Marie-Luise Neunecker, Antje Weithaas, Gustav Rivinius,Tabea Zimmermann ,Ludmila Peterková andLeonidas Kavakos , as well as with the Tokyo, Artemis, Artis, Kuss, and American string quartets. In 1998 she was awarded with german "Echo klassik" Prize "Instrumentalist of the Year" for recording of Weber clarinet concertos. Gregor Bühl, german conductor, is her husband.
